The students and faculty members of the discipline actively cooperate in promoting a strong and vibrant research environment by holding multiple Mathematics Seminar Series, where they share their insights and latest research developments. Workshops highlighting cutting edge research in different domains of mathematics are organized on a regular basis in order to promote collaborative activities and outreach.
Our weekly invited research seminar where the newest mathematical research in GANIT areas (Geometry, Algebra, Number Theory and Topology) is presented and discussed. The seminar attracts a diverse audience of mathematicians, researchers, and students who are eager to learn. It traditionally takes place during the semester (August-November/January-April) on Mondays from 2-3 pm IST. We follow a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and online participation.
A weekly seminar run by our graduate students. The audience consist of only MSc and Ph.D. students. The topic can range from an advanced research topic to a comparatively basic concept, but the speaker should not assume anything beyond the basic MSc syllabus. The speaker will be given maximum 3 hrs (i.e. 2 slots of 1.5 hrs) to complete his talk. These talks are helpful for MSc 1st year students to become familiar with some sophisticated mathematics, as all the talks will presumably not have any prerequisites.
